Wai-Yee Chen is a Specialist Investment Adviser to clients in Australia and around the world. Qualified as a CPA and ADA2, Wai-Yee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, a Master of Applied Finance and a Diploma in Financial Planning. She is FASEA qualified, with Derivatives and Margin Lending Accreditation with the Australian Stock Exchange, and is also a member of the FBAA with accreditation as Credit Representative. She has established a name in the industry as a trusted Derivatives Specialist Adviser, working with high net-worth clients and family offices in leading Australian and global firms of Credit Suisse First Boston, ABN AMRO/RBS/Morgans and Ord Minnett.

Wai-Yee Chen established her self-licensed investment advisory firm, Acumen Investors, in 2020. Her vision is to provide institutional-grade wealth solutions to everyday investors in a cost-efficient manner.

Wai-Yee is a portfolio manager and a trusted adviser to clients in Australia and around the world. With more than two decades of experience, she is skilled at constructing equities derivatives portfolios for professional investors as well as matching investments to the individual at the required level of sophistication to meet a range of clients’ needs, from limited-risk investments to astute derivatives strategies.

Wai-Yee has a unique perspective in neuroscience of investing. As an adviser, her sensitivity to clients' diverse personality profiles and psychological temperament is valuable in helping clients work towards their actual financial goals. As a portfolio manager, it gives her an edge in market psychology and investor behavior.

Wai-Yee is regularly sought out by the media to present investment ideas and share her insights. These networks in the past and present included CNBC, SKY Business and Ausbiz, the Australian Financial Review and various investment magazines. She actively speaks with and coaches other advisers, investors and business community and is a passionate and prolific investment author.

Amid the global financial crisis, Wai-Yee authored her first book, OptionsWise: How to Invest Sensibly, a step-by-step manual to help investors and advisers understand how to use options to manage risks and enhance returns, all in a sensible fashion. In 2013, Wai-Yee published: NeuroInvesting – Build a New Investing Brain, with John Wiley & Sons. This book contains observations and lessons learnt from investing in different markets, trading during highly volatile cycles like the GFC and in dynamic instruments such as derivatives. Wai-Yee continues to educate the investing community through various mediums.

She has amassed over ten years of experience as a financial planner, having worked with prestigious institutions such as HSBC, ABN Amro/RBS, CIMB, Morgans, and CBA. Maggie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Finance, a Master's Degree in Business, and an advanced diploma in financial planning.

She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®️) and a SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA®️).

With nearly two decades of experience in the financial industry, Chi Kiet Chau is a trusted Mortgage Broker for his Australian clients. Chi attained his BBus (Economics) and Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning). He worked with Australian companies Superpartners and IOOF and progressed to offering specialised services as a Financial Planner for Hanratty Carr & Associates. Chi has attained many qualifications over the years, holding a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management and a Diploma of Financial Services specialising in Complex Issues in Commercial Lending from Kaplan Australia and The Institute of Strategic Management.

Chi’s specialist skill is in providing lending services to homeowners, property investors, individuals, sole traders, trusts, companies and SMSFs.
